The NCALM policy for public release of airborne lidar data is determined by the project type:

• Type 1: Standard NCALM acquisitions for NSF PIs

  Data acquired for this type of project will be released to the public two years after the date of delivery to the PI.

• Type 2: Seed grant projects awarded directly by NCALM

  Seed grant projects are small, exploratory acquisitions. Data acquired for this type of project will be released six months after the date of delivery to the PI.

When a PI's period of sole access to the data expires, or when a PI approves an earlier release, NCALM will release the data through the NCALM Data Distribution Center maintained and hosted by UC Berkeley.
